Style products one by one and in bulk
There are two ways to style products in LingoVae: one at a time (the everyday flow) and in bulk (Grow and above).
The everyday flow
This is the flow you’ll use most often. Total time: about 30 seconds per product.
Step 1: Open the product
From Products, click any product to open its page. You’ll see:
- The original Shopify description on the left.
- Any existing drafts on the right, listed by style.
- A Style this product button at the top.
Step 2: Pick a style
Click Style this product. A picker shows every style in your library. Pick one (or several — see below for the multi-pick option).
If your store has a default style set in Settings → Auto-style, that style is highlighted. If you have an active schedule that covers right now, the scheduled style is highlighted instead.
Step 3: Generate the draft
LingoVae generates the draft in ten to twenty seconds. You’ll see a spinner; when it resolves, the draft appears in the right column.
Most of the time the draft just works. Occasionally — usually when the AI provider is congested — the generation will fail. You’ll see a friendly error (“The AI model is busy — try again in a minute”) and a Retry button. No transformation is counted against your quota for a failed generation.
Step 4: Review and publish
The draft is a full version of the product copy — title, body, SEO title, SEO description, and any metafields configured for styling. You can:
- Publish all fields. The styled version replaces what your storefront shows.
- Publish some fields and leave others. Useful when you love the new body copy but want to keep your existing title.
- Edit the draft directly. The right column is a rich-text editor; tweak the copy, then publish.
- Discard the draft. Nothing publishes; the draft is marked discarded and stays on the page for reference.
- Generate another draft with the same style (different output every time) or with a different style.
See review and drafts for the deep dive on per-field publishing and editing.
Step 5: Verify (optional)
When you publish, your storefront switches to the styled version immediately. Refresh the product’s page on your live storefront to see it. Your original description is preserved — click Revert to original on the product page to switch back any time.
Styling with multiple styles at once
On Grow and above, the style picker lets you pick up to four styles for the same product in one click. LingoVae generates one draft per style in parallel. They all appear in the right column for side-by-side review.
This is the fastest way to A/B between voices. Pick the winner, publish it, and discard the others (or leave them sitting — they don’t expire and they don’t cost anything once generated).
The styles column
In the products list, each row shows a small Styles column with the styles that product has been touched by. On Free and Starter, only the most recent style is shown. On Grow and above, you see “Friendly +2 more” and can hover for the full list.
This makes it easy to scan your catalog and see what’s been styled, what’s been styled multiple times, and what’s still on the original copy.
Bulk styling
Bulk styling is a Grow and Pro feature.
The bulk flow lets you generate drafts for many products at once — usually tens to thousands, depending on your plan’s monthly transformation quota.
Step 1: Select products
From Products, use the filter bar to narrow down to the set you want to restyle (by collection, vendor, tag, or product status). Then either:
- Click the checkbox in the header to select every product matching the filter (this can be thousands).
- Click individual product checkboxes to select a custom set.
Click the Style selected button that appears at the top.
Step 2: Pick a style
Same picker as the single-product flow, but with one-at-a-time selection only (you can’t multi-style in bulk — pick one voice per job).
Step 3: Confirm and start
LingoVae shows you a summary: “You’re about to style 247 products with the Friendly style. This will use 247 of your remaining 8,000 monthly transformations.” Click Start job.
If you don’t have enough transformations remaining, LingoVae will tell you the gap and offer to buy an add-on pack. The job won’t start until you have headroom.
Step 4: Let it run
You’ll see a job indicator pill in the top bar (next to your store name). It updates in real time as the job ticks through products. You can:
- Leave the page entirely. The job keeps running.
- Click the pill to open the job summary dialog and see live progress.
- Pause the job at any time. It stops at the next product boundary — no half-styled products, no duplicate work on resume.
- Cancel the job. Everything generated so far is preserved in your review queue.
Step 5: Review the batch
When the job completes, all the drafts land in your review queue as a single batch card. Open the batch and you’ll see every product with its draft, sortable by confidence score. You can:
- Publish all. Pushes every draft in the batch to your storefront.
- Publish all above a confidence threshold. Publishes only the high-confidence ones; flags the rest for individual review.
- Walk the list product-by-product. Publish, edit, or discard each one.
- Discard all and keep your originals. Drafts are marked discarded and stay in history.
See review and drafts for the full batch-review flow.
Job rules
A few things to know about bulk jobs:
- One active job per store. If a job is running and you start another, the second one queues. Queue depth is configurable in Settings — default 1, max 5.
- Style lock. While a job is running, queued, or paused, the style it’s using is locked from edits. See the style lock.
- Async for large jobs. Jobs over 500 products use Shopify’s bulk operation API in the background — you’ll see the same progress pill, but completion is signalled by a Shopify webhook instead of polling. You don’t need to do anything different.
- Resume after pause. A paused job can be resumed any time. If you forget about it for a few weeks, it’ll still resume cleanly from where it left off — nothing expires.
- Quota check on creation. Jobs precheck your transformation balance when you start them. If the job would exceed your plan’s monthly limit plus any add-on packs, it won’t start.
Auto-styling new products
On Grow and above, you can set LingoVae to automatically style any new product the moment it’s created in your store.
Configure this in Settings → Auto-style. Pick a default style, and from then on:
- You create a new product in Shopify (or your PIM pushes one).
- LingoVae receives the create webhook within seconds.
- LingoVae generates a styled draft using your default style.
- The draft lands in your review queue with the badge Auto-styled.
- You review and publish it just like any other draft.
The auto-styled draft does not publish automatically. Even when you trust the system, the merchant-in-the-loop is non-negotiable. If you want a hands-off workflow, set a high auto-publish confidence threshold in quality controls and publish the batch when you check the review queue.
Auto-styling is rate-limited at 80% of your monthly transformation quota — this prevents a runaway product import from burning your entire month’s quota in an hour. Manual generations always go through.
